Stage 4 (29. June 2023) Sappada - Mauthen

The first ascent of the Challenge route follows the course of the Piave upstream for a good 500 meters in altitude. The varied descent then ends in Forni Avoltri. Here you also meet the Classic route again, which reaches this place via the main road.

Now everyone is approaching the Carnic mountain range together. In the course of the impressive, 1,200 meter long ascent, you can always expect short stretches of pushing. The alpine section then ends at the Plöckenpass, on the border between Italy and Austria.

The following descent to the day’s destination in Mauthen is completed by everyone on the pass road.
