Cookies | Advertisements

Our website uses various first- and third-party cookies for statistics, web fonts and marketing. Cookies are small text files that, with the help of the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox,…), are saved on your terminal. They do not cause any damage. We also use Google technologies (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, GA Audiences, DoubleClick, DoubleClick Ad Exchange-Buyer) and Facebook technologies (Facebook Connect, Facebook Social Plugins, Facebook Impressions). If you do not agree, we recommend to delete the cookies in your browser and not to accept any cookies on our page.

Only information, which your Internet browser automatically transmits to the server, will be stored. This applies in particular to: IP address, time of the server enquiry, operating system, browser type/version, name of your Internet service provider, Internet page from where our website is accessed and pages which you access on www.bike-holidays.com and its subpages. This is only for information purposes which do not allow for conclusions about you. The IP address is pseudonymised.

We use cookies to make our offer user-friendly and to show suitable advertisements on various platforms, e.g. Google. Some cookies will remain on your terminal until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit. However, we do not use personal data to send you targeted advertisements, unless you have given your expressed consent. If you have disabled the placing of cookies or if you have set restrictions, then the functionality of our website may be restricted.

Web Analysis | Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC with headquarters in Mountain View, United States (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files which are saved on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of this website. The information generated by these cookies will usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if the IP anonymisation is activated on our website, Google will shorten your IP address within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP anonymisation on our website is activated. Google uses this information on our behalf to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about the website activities and to perform services related to the use of the website and the internet for us. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the storing of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that you might not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent in that case. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data created by the cookie and data relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

We use Google Analytics with the extension „_anonymizeIp()“. With this, IP addresses are shortened (so-called IP masking). A reference to particular persons is therefore ruled out.

Thus, there is an appropriate data protection level in in exceptional cases where Google transmits personal data to the USA. Information about Google: Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland

Tracking the newsletter

We save this data; thus, we are able to align our newsletter perfectly to the requirements and interests of our subscribers.

Online marketing | Google Ads conversion tracking and Google Remarketing

Google Ads conversion tracking

We use Google Ads to show you advertisements on Google websites and other third parties. Using conversion tracking, we are able to determine how successful the individual advertisement measures are. Our aim is to show you advertisements that might interest you and to make our website more interesting for you. Legal basis for processing your data is Article 6 (1) letter f GDPR.

Google delivers the advertisements through a so-called “Ad Server“. For this, we use cookies which enable us to measure the success through specific parameters like display of ads or clicks by the users. If you reach our website through a Google ad, then Google Ads will store a cookie on your PC. The validity of these cookies expires usually 30 days later. The cookies are not used to identify you personally. The unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) as well as opt-out information (marking that the user does no longer want to be addressed) are saved as analysis values in the cookie.

These cookies enable Google to recognise your Internet browser. If a user visits the pages of the website of an Ads customer, and if the cookie saved on his computer has not expired yet, then Google and the customer will be able to see that the user has clicked on the advertisement and has been redirected to this page. A different cookie is allocated to every Ads customer. Thus, cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of Ads customers. We do not collect and process personal data as part of the mentioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Using these evaluations, we are able to establish which oft he used advertising measures are especially effective. We do not receive any other data regarding the use of the advertising medium, and we are definitely not able to identify the user based on this information.

Based on the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google servers. We are unable to influence the extent and further use of the data by Google and can only inform you according to our level of knowledge: By integrating Ads conversion tracking, Google receives the information that you have accessed the relevant part of our Internet presence or that you have clicked on one of our advertisements. Google will be able to allocate the visit to your account if you are registered with a Google service. The provider will still be able to determine and store your IP address even if you are not registered with Google and/or not logged in.

You can prevent the storing of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that you might not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent in that case. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data created by the cookie and data relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available in the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin

Further information regarding the privacy policy of Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy

This is done through the cookies stored in your browser. With the help of these cookies, Google records and evaluates your usage behaviour when visiting various websites. With this, Google is able to establish your previous visit to our website.

According to Google, the data collected in Remarketing will not be merged with your personal data Google might have stored. Pseudonymisation is especially used in Remarketing, according to Google.
